Many of us who visit IV forums everyday know that snethil1 is an idiot. I would highly recommend more people to add him to your ignore list, just as I did. I read his post because you quoted him in your post. Otherwise his posts do not even show up on my screen. He and his posts are inconsequential if you add him to your ignore list.

Companies were vague on numbers. So how could they satisfy Senators. I knew only a few companies gave detail about open positions including Microsoft, Intel and oracle. How you can impress Senate or house? But anti immigrants gave all the layoff numbers, h1b numbers used and details of abuses happened for past few years. It is not just money power will win. With facts and numbers if you have money power then you can win. That is reason for past 3 years H1b numbers or GC numbers were not increased inspite of heavy lobbying.

Here I want to make clear, FIFO for taking labor applications and sending ad instructions not for approving. I know depending on compilcation of cases(I think), some cases with PD 2005 get approved fast and cases with PD 2003 are taking longer. I dont know why all these mess in DOL, for taking the labor applications and sending ad instructions.

We have worked hard in the last 4 years and have made some progress along the way Immigration Voice Achievements (http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=47) But Most of us are still in the limbo of green card process and waiting in different stages. Some of us may have advanced to the I-485 stage and have a little more career flexibility but the hanging sword of uncertainty still looms over our heads.
Our angst, our insecurity:
Even with EAD and other options, lack of green card is lack of security and lack of certainty. You know it and you feel it every day. In order to find a permanent fix for the uncertainty, angst and insecurity and in order to snap out of the probationary lifestyle and career, we have to finish what we started over 4 years ago -- get the U.S. Congress to act on this problem and solve it once and for all.
Early effort wins:
The first agenda of next Congress will be immigration and we expect an immigration bill to be debated sometime in early 2011. However, it would be a big mistake to wait until that time to do something about that bill. Successful advocacy efforts are the ones that start early and introduce concepts and ideas into the debate before the legislators write their first draft. Once the committee hearings and debates begin, it is harder to get changes or fixes into a bill because it requires an amendment to the bill in a politically charged and heated atmosphere. Groups and organizations that wait until the last minute to influence members of congress often fail to achieve results. In order to succeed in next year's immigration bill, we have to begin talking to members of congress now. Remember, the advocacy efforts we did with lobby day and rally in Sept 2007 influenced congress to include our provisions in bipartisan bills introduced in Aug 2008. Legislative things take time.
How you can help:
You and help in two different ways:
Join the advocacy effort in DC on June 7th and 8th. (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum85-action-items-for-everyone/1437978-iv-announcement-advocacy-days-in-washington-dc-7th-and-8th-june.html) If you have never done this before, we encourage you to help us with this and join us. Immigration voice will arrange the logistics of setting up meetings and arranging the material for you to take to your Congressmen and Senators. We are expecting about 150 immigration voice members to gather in DC and participate in over 200 meetings with Congressmen and Senators.
Contributing Funds to help finance the effort (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum85-action-items-for-everyone/1534974-funding-drive-iv-needs-your-support-for-advocacy-events-in-dc.html). You are most welcome to come to DC and join us but if your job demands are such that you cannot take two days off on June 7th and 8th, then you can still contribute to this effort by contributing financially to Immigration Voice. There are a lot of folks speculating that dates might move back, but honestly it does not make sense. My interpretation is dates will move faster.
Moving "back" implies directionality, whereas moving "faster" implies speed - these two are as unalike as chalk and cheese. How does your interpretation refute those speculations? :)

True if one want to die for Citizenship , But job market is not as great as here. One needs to be really lucky to be there and I also agree that its lot easier in life once you have a stable job. I have some friends who are well settled and enjoying a cool life. WHere as some are still looking for one and many moved back to US or Gulf once they got citizenship so it all depends... But Certain Citizenship of Canada is easiest compared to that of US and well respected too compared to US.

Hi Prince,
I went thru posts on other forums with I 485 denials after 180 days of filing. In almost all the cases, people filed MTR and their I 485 was re-instated back to normal after that. You should be fine after filing the MTR with the help of attorney.
I know these 15-20 days will be hard for you. Hang on. I had the same experiance when there an RFE on my I 140.

is UNLIKELY to pass at least in its current form. Public hospitals, underserved area clinics, Universities are not Google and Oracle!!! They'll go under if they have to pay 5000 $ for H1Bs. People probably don't have the faintest idea under what kind of financial strain these are. There will be exemptions for universities and non-profit organizations.
Not only the 5K filing fee , One have to do newspaper advertisement like PERM the cost of lawyer fee and I read somewhere One year extension for H1b beyond 6yrs since I140 will be out of the picture. :eek:
