Update. My attorney has sent a letter (interfiling process) to USCIS mentioning that my case is current now. One of my friends got 485 approved within 2 weeks after initiating interfiling process. I hope it would be the same case with me.

One thing for sure USCIS do likes April fools day a lot as this the date they usually pick when the retrogress. This proves that a fool named DOS in love with April fools day.:)

Thats a mess forced onto themselves. However, iam feeling happy and lucky about it. The hardships of USCIS employees started off from mid june and will never end just because of mess & mass miss-communication between the agencies.
Since I was bored at work, I called this number and talked with a rep this morning @10. She told me that they have 76K applications pending for the receipt date as of July 27th. She said this two times thinking me to take on with surprise with this huge number. Yes, of course I am surprised. Is it only 76K apps by July 27th?

If this becomes a law, the USCIS will draft the rules. Definitely, those who are already in line will be allowed to use the recaptured visas and will pay the fees for that. They will also retain the PD.

lack of a good implementation plan and improvement over a number of years is another thing.
We can't just poke around an established government agency because we feel they are not doing their job properly.
What do you (You refers to people who think above, not one in particular) say about the people who filed lawsuit and got the 180 day Name check rule to implementation faster? Not that I am proposing lawsuits, just an example to disprove what you said.
I am trying to figure out what you guys are trying to say. If you guys think that CIS will give you the GC on the day they will feel like and you are cool with it, Why even hopping around boards either for information or anything. Just follow the processing times and see whether number has been called or not. 99% of the crowd thinks here that we can get a better policy by making our voice heard. I dont see rational and logic between what you are saying and what you are doing, unless you are smartly drawing a wedge or trying to scare away people saying that you are not a citizen, you will get busted.

I was in India recently for a 2 months vacation, and some work from our Indian office,. First few days were tough , lot of dust , traffic , pollution, But after 2 weeks i was loving it the old way .. and when i was flying back i realized I love Delhi .

When i was in India, i went to best hotels for food (2000Rs buffets) virtually every week.,just went to NY once for a 200$ buffet, in 6 years.
So everyone has to take a personal decision, based on personal factors..
I went on a business trip to Delhi and Mumbai last year for about 10 days. I stayed at very expensive hotels (Leela in Mumbai, don't remember the Delhi one) but somehow I did not feel that it was worth the $300+ a night or so. The hotels were about the same standard as a Best Western or a Holiday Inn in the US which tend to go for $60-80 usually. There were no reasonable budget options for $100 like in the US. The value for money seems much less in India IMO. I have been to China and Brazil too and the general standards there seem to be orders of magnitude higher.

Relax Buddy , now that the bus has come they will keep coming .Most of the people will go in this bus. The dates will retrogress for some time and will be current maybe next year . If not this bus then the next bus . No use raising your blood pressure for this . Attorneys and the media have a habit of scaring people unnecessarily . hi! i am a physical therapist on h1b...all this news abt retrogression is too scary...i had a few qs:
what is the scenario for someone like me who would file I-140 in the next couple of months?
what are the chances of Schedule A being alloted additional visa numbers in the next 2 years?
how much wait time would be expected under EB 3 category for India for someone whose priority date wud b oct or nov'07???

I will try to answer on your second question first. Shumer/Hutchinson amendment is the only our chanse for now. Try hammond law group, or shusterman, you will find info about it there. Shortly, it is the second try of Mr.Shumer and Ms. Hutchinson to amend an "Omnibous Bill" with a favorable for nurses and PT amendment. It would provide all schedule "A" with 61000 visas! If it is passed, we will be in chocolate:D , I mean you will get your GC in approximately 6-8 months (or a year). Nobody knows what are the chanses! My opinion that we have 50% that such a bill will be attached, and than we again have 50% that it will be passed and signed by Bush, before the end of the year.:rolleyes: If we are not lucky we would not see any favorable bills till after the elections of president and senate, late 2009(!).:mad:
Under EB3(if no schedule "A", and there is no other favorable changes in immigration law),and you are from India, you will have to wait forewer (10 years or so)! But if you are in the US, and you will be able to file I485, DO IT!
My advise is: file I140 as soon as possible, not sure about the avilability of premium processing, if you can, then use it also, if you can file I140 and I485 concurently - DO IT! I'm not familiar with procedures for PT, maybe you will find information here:

Please don’t consider $100 is a small amount. In this double round of 21 shots we are going to cover almost the cost of this bus trip. Please consider pulling the trigger. We still need 3 sponsors to motive the two members who will contribute for the first time.

I have just talked local Congresswoman's Office and I have talked to a staff member for 1 hour and she is helping me. She is going to call NSC and get to the root cause of this problem.
